Here is an update on the recent changes in the Whitstable first team playing squad, plus some injury news, from manager Jamie Coyle.
After receiving a 7 day approach from VCD Athletic, Liam Gillies has decided to leave this week.
Josh Oliver has joined Snodland Town on a 28 day loan to gain some game time.
Will Thomas is still recovering from a hip flexor issue and played 60 minutes for the 23’s on Tuesday night, which was a real positive.
Adem Ramadan is still registered with us, but needs to gain some game time to get back to full match fitness after missing the majority of last season due to a leg break.
Reece Gillies has recently undergone a hernia operation and will be working with our physio team to nurse him back to full fitness in the coming months.
Finn O’Mara has re-joined from Hastings United and has been outstanding in our last two games against Stansfeld and Bearsted.
Connor Wilkins was one of our summer targets, but decided to play at a higher level. He has only recently recovered from a knee injury, so we have been gradually managing his minutes and again he was one of our standout players at Stansfeld.
Bradley Schafer was another key player that we wanted to bring to the club in the summer. He is a real creative CM that we have been missing for the majority of the season. He has already scored a number of key goals and provided assists in the short time he has been with us.
Ashdon Day has recently returned from his ankle injury and was instrumental on Tuesday night against Bearsted, scoring one and getting an assist for Deano’s goal.
Robbie Rees has also bolstered the squad since our Vase game against Fleet where he was absolutely outstanding. He brings a wealth of experience to our engine room and has been a breath of fresh air on and off the pitch for our young group - a real model professional.
Albie O’Mara-Knapp is another Dartford Academy product (same team as Ashdon Day) who has a really bright future in the game. His work ethic and quality will be a real asset for us moving forward.
