A summary of the trophies presented on Saturday evening

The Whitstable Town Football Club first team end of season awards were presented in the clubhouse after the final game of the season on Saturday evening. Thank you to everyone who stayed to participate and congratulate the winners. We are also grateful to Richard Baines of City Awards for helping with the trophies and Ben Jennings for hosting the event.

The first award was chosen by the players who selected Jake Mackenzie as their winner. The next was voted for by the supporters online and their player of the season poll was won by Josh Williams.

Josh Oliver collected the Golden Boot for the second successive season, this time for his total of 24 goals. The nearest challengers for this award were Josh Williams 18, Harvey Smith 16 and Emmanuel Oloyede 14.

Supporters were given a choice of a number of goals to watch and vote for and decided that the “goal of the season” was scored by Josh Williams against Lordswood.

The manager’s player was nominated by interim manager Dan Eason, who stepped in for the last three games of the season – and won all three of them! This trophy was awarded to Reece Gillies. The directors chose midfielder Mikey Dalton for their player of the season award.

The club also sometimes makes a “special contribution award” for volunteers whose efforts on behalf of Whitstable Town we feel deserve recognition. This season two awards were given, one to Ethan Clayton for all of the work he does on behalf of the club, especially the social media updates, but also a variety of other jobs around the ground, including the scoreboard on home matchdays. The other award went to Mark and Debbie Cooke, who look after the Grimshill Road car park entrance on matchdays, taking everyone’s money when they arrive! Mark also manages all of the club membership database and associated administration for the many youth teams within the club.

Congratulations to all of the winners who are listed below.
