Whitstable kick off their Kent Senior Trophy campaign at the Belmont tomorrow against Stansfeld.
Stansfeld were promoted to the SCEFL Premier Division this season and have started the campaign well, currently sitting third in the table after twelve games. They play their home matches at the Glebe FC ground in Chislehurst, where the teams will meet in the league next Saturday.
The teams also met in the Kent Senior Trophy during the 2017-18 season. This was the last time Whitstable played in the competition, which they went on to win, beating Sheppey United 2-1 after extra time in the final with goals from Josh Burchell and Tom Bryant.
The Whitstable team, managed by Scott Porter, that faced Stansfeld on 25th November 2017 at the Belmont was: Dan Eason, John Walker, Josh Burchell (Brendon Cass 79), Stuart West, Craig Cloke (c), Tom Bryant, Louis Sprosen, James Morrish, Ricky Freeman (Rhys Brain 70), Charlie Smith, Chris Saunders. Whitstable won 2-0, both goals being penalties, scored by Ricky Freeman and Charlie Smith.
The Stansfeld team that day: Lewis Collier, Joe Borland (Joe Brown 65), Greg Summersby, Jesse Thackham, George Martin, Adam Ball, Billy Jolley, Michael McKenna, Billy Shinners, Jake Williams (Nathan Flaher 65), Mark McKenna (Ryan Hassan 75).
We look forward to welcoming Stansfeld FC and their supporters to The Belmont.
The Belmont Road and Car Park (Grimshill Road) gates will be open from 13:30. We have two gates to access the ground. The Belmont Road gate is best for visitors who have come by train or are walking in on foot from the town. If visitors are travelling by car, the postcode for our car park gate is CT5 4LN.
