For the first half of the game onlookers wouldn’t have noticed we were a man down. We had a good share of the play but accurate shots on goal eluded us and unfortunately our local rivals put 2 goals in our net in the first half. The mood was buoyant at half time. In the second half we again came out fighting but fitness and lack of players got the better of us, as did the opposition. They scored another 2 goals before heroic dual-signed Ollie arrived fresh from his game in Folkestone to give us some extra legs on the pitch for the last 20 minutes. Despite some last ditch forward drives, the Whitstable team could not get on the score sheet and eventually lost 6-0. This could have been a lot worse but for their determination and effort which was, in the main, an impressive 100%. A very brave effort from a team which is slowly coming together again, with a special mention to Caydn on his debut for the team and other (fairly) new signing Maks for his strong tackles and ‘never give up’ attitude. Well done team - Emma, Jacob and I are very proud of you. Stick with it and the rewards will come.
